This Lenten season, open your hearts to Jesus Christ

As the Lenten Season begins, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin distributes ashes to the faithful during the Ash Wednesday Mass at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul on March 6.
In his homily, Bishop Tobin told all those gathered that Lent is a wonderful opportunity to let Jesus Christ into their lives and their hearts.
“It is the season of Lent that takes us from winter to spring, from sin to grace, from death to life. This is important. So as you receive the ashes today, please don’t do so lightly. Ashes are an external sign of an internal commitment. Ashes are a sign that you are willing to make this journey of faith for forty days. Ashes are a sign that you will open your door to Christ to let him serve you.”
