Sister Patricia Ann Dwyer, C.N.D.

WILTON, Conn. — Congregation of Notre Dame Sister Patricia Ann Dwyer died July 16.

She was the daughter of Richard and Theresa (Maloney) Dwyer. Sister Dwyer made profession in the Congregation of Notre Dame in 1962.

She taught at the former St. Sebastian School, Providence, from 1963-1968. She later served as a teacher and principal in Connecticut and New York.

In 1979, Sister Dwyer began ministering as a spiritual director. She was a team member at the former Our Lady of Peace Spiritual Life Center, Narragansett, from 1979-1983. Following a year of study, she returned to Our Lady of Peace as an internship coordinator and Myers-Briggs Consultant from 1984-1991.

In 1991, Sister Dwyer moved to Islandia, N.Y., setting up a practice as a private consultant in spiritual direction, and that ministry was continued in New Rochelle, N.Y. until 1996 when she was elected Associate to the Provincial Leader in the Congregation of Notre Dame.

Until her death, Sister Dwyer continued her ministry in spirituality, coordinating two training programs in Rockville Centre, N.Y. and at St. Ignatius Retreat House in Manhasset, N.Y. She was also the co-director of a two-month internship program at St. Ignatius. For several years, Sister Dwyer was a team member at the Center for Spirituality and Justice, Bronx and New Rochelle, N.Y.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 21 at Villa Notre Dame, Wilton. Burial was in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, Conn.
