Lady Hibernians offer high school scholarship

NEWPORT – The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians of Newport has established a tuition scholarship program to benefit young women attending a Catholic high school.

The program is open to Newport County residents who are completing Grade 9 and will enter their sophomore year of high school in the fall. To be eligible, students must be the daughter, granddaughter, sister or niece of a member in good standing of the Dennis E. Collins Division I, Ancient Order of Hibernians, or Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians of Newport.

The scholarship recipient will receive a $1,000 award to be applied to tuition for the upcoming academic year.

Application packets are available at area Catholic high schools, Creaney Cruise and Travel, Middletown and the Hibernian Hall, Newport. The deadline is April 1. For more information, call 847-7686.
