Bishop Richard G. Henning installed Father Robert H. Forcier as the pastor of St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Narragansett on Saturday, Oct. 28.
In his homily, the bishop said that while a pastor exercises earthly power, this pales in comparison to the one thing which is necessary for them to fulfill their duties as shepherd. This is for them to know the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ, “who loves you and loves you to the end, and to allow that love of the Lord to overflow from your heart to your people, to make of you, not a CEO, but a good shepherd, who is there, who accompanies his people, who loves them in every way possible.”
