Father Carpentier installed as pastor of St. Martha Church

Bishop Richard G. Henning installed Father Scott J. Carpentier as the pastor of St. Martha Church in East Providence on Sunday, Oct. 29.

“When you see and respond to the love of God truly then inevitable that power of God flows through you and to those around you,” said Bishop Henning in his homily. The bishop spoke to Father Carpentier, noting all of the day-to-day responsibilities of a pastor. “But only one thing is truly necessary: Open your heart fully to the gift of his grace and you, like the Good Shepherd, will share that gift with the people of God. Care for them with compassion, with solidarity, and accompany them.”
