Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul- Easter Vigil
On Saturday, March 30, Catholics gathered at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Providence for the Easter Vigil Mass celebrated by Bishop Richard G. Henning. Commemorating the Resurrection of Jesus, the Mass began with a blessing of new fire and prayer. The Easter Vigil Mass also welcomed three catechumens who receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and/or the Holy Eucharist, and two candidates who were received into full communion with the Catholic Church, joining them to the mystical body of Christ.

St. Patrick’s Church - Washing of the Feet
On Thursday, March 28, Father Joseph Brice celebrated the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, including the traditional “mandatum” or washing of feet, with members of the Special Religious Education (SPRED) apostolate. Celebrated the Thursday of Holy Week, this tradition emulates Jesus’ washing of the disciples’ feet and symbolizes humility.

St. Thomas More Church - “Stations in the Streets”
The grey skies couldn’t keep the faithful members of St. Thomas More Parish in Narragansett from attending the annual “Stations in the Streets” on Good Friday. Starting inside the church, about 200 parishioners of all ages gathered for a prayer service led by Father Marcel Taillon before taking to the streets. Throughout the procession members of the Confirmation Class at the parish proclaimed assigned readings at each station.
