Bayview Academy Athletes earn accolades

Seven St. Mary Academy - Bay View athletes have recently earned accolades for outstanding performances in their sport. Fall athletes received official word of their All-State team appointments, including Mikaela Lee, a junior from North Scituate, who was named First Team All-State for soccer.

Mahoney and Letendre both earned Second Team All-State, Mahoney for field hockey and Letendre for tennis (singles). Recently, two Bay View Bengal basketball players were honored to play in the Alice Sullivan Showcase for girls basketball. Participants represented the top high school girls basketball players in the state. Bay View selected Abigail Burke (senior, shooting guard from East Greenwich) and Rylee Leonard (senior, point guard from Coventry) for their skills, work ethic and the respect they receive from their coaches and teammates. In ice hockey, sixth grader Sophia Hamel and freshman Emma Audet have been selected as top players to represent the state of Rhode Island at the New England Yankee Conference, which will take place from March 28 - 30 at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. Players chosen from the festival will then represent the New England District at the National USA Hockey Festivals later this summer.
