St. Mary Academy - Bay View’s Middle School Robotics Team earned the ‘Excellence in Core Values’ award at the Rhode Island State Championship of the First Lego League (FLL). According to FLL, the distinction celebrates “a team that displays extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit, knows they can accomplish more together than they could as individuals, and shows each other and other teams respect at all times.” Competing against 19 other teams from schools across Rhode Island, Bay View middle school students presented their innovative idea, S.M.A.R.T Sense, before a panel of FLL judges at East Providence High School.
