Silver Rose to be featured during prayer service WOONSOCKET – The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a prayer service featuring a traveling Silver Rose in honor Our Lady of Guadalupe at Sacred Heart Church, 415 Olo St., on Friday, Nov. 1, the Feast of All Saints, following the 6:30 p.m. Mass (at approximately 7:15 p.m.). Annual Catholic Lecture scheduled at Brown University PROVIDENCE — The Thomas Becket Association will present its Annual Catholic Lecture at Brown University: “What Proofs for God Really Prove” delivered by Mr. Nathan Schneider, Brown ‘06, on Friday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. Mr. Schneider’s talk will offer a presentation of how to think through proofs of God’s existence in terms of poetry and experiences; as glimpses into the lives and imaginations of the people who created them rather than simply as arguments meant to win over atheists. Mr. Schneider is the author of “God in Proof: The Story of a Search from the Ancients to the Internet” and “Thank You, Anarchy: Notes from the Occupy Apocalypse”.
