Above at left, the Saint Margaret School Student Council recently held a “Baby Shower for Mary” to benefit St. Gabriel’s Call a ministry for mothers in the Diocese of Providence, pictured at right. The Rumford School gathered together to reflect on Mary’s journey and her willingness to answer God’s call. Students wrote poems and letters to Mary and a few were selected to read them. In addition to bringing necessary items for mothers in need, a dress down day was held and money raised was donated to St. Gabriel’s Call. The mission of St. Gabriel’s Call is to respect all life and to reach out to women who are pregnant and in need, through a confidential intervention program to help make things easier for mothers-to-be during and beyond pregnancy in a local and personal way.
