Mary Ann Tager, 74, of Lincoln Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on April 13th 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Ann displayed incredible perseverance and unwavering hope. She fought with determination and grace, inspiring everyone who knew her. She never let her diagnosis define her everyday activities. She often said “I walk with faith not with sight.” She was known for her kindness and determination. Throughout Mary Ann’s life she did a lot of charity work. She was employed at the Salvation Army for 15 years as well as the Diocese of Providence for 12 years. She served at St. Thomas Church and taught religious education which brought her so much joy. She also lectured at The Cathedral of St. Peter & Paul for 12 years. She enjoyed going to shows at PPAC and going to the movies with her sisters and many friends. She was also a member of the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed going out to eat, especially Italian and Arabic food. Her favorite food was Grape Leaves. When Mary Ann wasn’t doing all her fun activities, she would sit and listen to audiobooks. She also enjoyed listening to the radio, being a frequent caller to her favorite station 99.1. Her life was always filled with good times and wonderful memories.

She wanted to make sure to thank all the wonderful CNA’s that helped her so much. A special mention to Ashley and Gabby as well as her PT and OT staff Charlie, Karen, and Julianna. She would like to thank the Lifespan Cancer Institute with special recognition to Susan, Mary Ellen, and Dr. Canero. Mary Ann also wanted to thank with all her heart her good friends Marianne, Sandy, and Erin and many more with too many to mention. She would also like to thank Diane, her therapist who helped her through some very difficult days. They were her support team through the very end.

Mary Ann is survived by her 3 sisters Elaine, Christine and Patricia as well 4 brothers, Anthony, George, Charlie, and Danny Tager. She also is preceded by her sister Julia. Accompanied by them were their spouses and many nieces and nephews.

Her life was full of so much joy and happiness when the family got together. She will be missed by many people whose life was touched by her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church located at 191 School Street, Albion, Lincoln, RI at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ambrose cemetery.
