Celebrating the Feast of Saint Nicholas

As part of the third grade religion class at Blessed Sacrament School in Providence, students made mitres in honor of the Dec. 6 Feast of Saint Nicholas. They honored the saint associated with Christmas because he promoted the custom of giving secret gifts to children, a tradition associated with the mission of Santa Claus in some countries. Students loved learning more about the true meaning of Christmas.
