WARWICK — On Sunday Nov. 1, St. Martin DePorres Center celebrated 70 years of service with an Anniversary Gala themed “Honoring Our Legacy, Embracing Our Future.”

The evening was a heartfelt tribute to the people whose faith, compassion, and dedication have shaped the Center’s mission. Hosted by Executive Director Linda A’Vant-Deishinni and Karah Bailey of ABC 6, the program opened with an invocation from Bishop Bruce Lewandowski, setting a tone of reflection, gratitude, and hope.
For 70 years, the Center has been a cornerstone for Providence’s older adults—guiding them through Social Security, Medicaid, housing, food assistance, and health care, and providing compassionate support in times of crisis. It’s also a place of community, where seniors connect through fitness, crafts, computer classes, volunteer programs, and shared meals.
