Special guest speaker visits St. Joseph School to discuss environmental sustainability in Africa

Special guest speaker Allen Ottaro, founding executive director of Catholic Youth Network for Environmental Sustainability in Africa (CYNESA) recently visited St. Joseph School in West Warwick. Inspired by St. Pope John Paul II’s 1990 message for World Day of Peace, in which he called for the need to upscale ecological awareness, Ottaro, founded CYNESA in with a mission is to help young Catholics in sub-Saharan Africa respond to the challenges of environmental degradation and climate change in an effective, coordinated and evangelical manner. CYNESA aims to strengthen existing initiatives, help potential programs get off the ground, communicate their voice and mission to all, and to properly conserve, develop and restore creation.
