‘A Bit of Christmas Music’ event planned
WARREN — St. Thomas the Apostle Church will host Gary James Farias’ “A Bit of Christmas Music” on December 3, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., in the church hall. Farias will also be playing other music as well. The entrance fee includes coffee, tea and pastry. The kitchen will be open selling sandwiches, pizza, favas and chourico, and soft drinks. You may bring your own food and drinks if you prefer. The event will also include a raffle, 50/50 split the pot and silent auction.
Advent Novena and Rosary
JOHNSTON — St. Rocco Church will continue its Advent Novena and Rosary on the following dates beginning at 6 p.m. each evening: Tuesday, December 6, “St. John the Baptist,” presented by Father James Sullivan, O.P.; Tuesday, December 13, “St. Joseph,” presented by Father John Unsworth; and Tuesday, December 20, “The Blessed Mother,” presented by Father Mark Gadoury.
Four Weeks of Advent: From Here to Eternity

Sweet Spirit of Christmas
BRISTOL —The 14th Annual Sweet Spirit of Christmas, sponsored by the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Rosary/Altar Society will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 4 – 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec.11, 8 a.m. - noon, in the Monsignor Lolio Parish Center. The event will feature homemade assorted cookies, holiday candies and more. Tickets for the annual Christmas Raffle and the Holiday Baskets will be sold after Masses on the weekends of December 3 and 4 in the back of the church, as well as at the Sweet Spirit of Christmas event.
Bristol County Chorus to perform at St. Mary’s Church
BRISTOL — The Bristol County Chorus will present their 41st annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 11, at St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood St., 3 p.m. The Chorus, accompanied by a professional chamber orchestra, will be conducted by Director of Music Nicholas Rocha. Presenting, “Do You Hear What I Hear?” the program features festive, colorful holiday music, including excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah,” and Dan Forrest’s arrangement of “The Huron Carol.” Masks are not required for the event, but are recommended; the chorus will not be masked. Tickets are available locally at the George Hail Library in Warren, at Paper Packaging and Panache in Bristol, and online through brownpapertickets.com. West Bay Chorale presents ‘The Gift’
WARWICK — The West Bay Chorale will present their holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m., at St. Kevin Church. A dramatic reading of “The Other Magi” by Henry van Dyke will be part of the concert. The music includes three new arrangements of traditional carols by composer Dan Forrest, poetry, the singing of traditional carols and more. Knights to hold breakfast
NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will hold a breakfast at the council hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, on Sunday, December 11, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Children 6 and under admitted free.
Take-Out Thursday to benefit Holy Angels Social Outreach Ministry
BARRINGTON — The original Take-Out Thursday, a charity food sale and popular East Bay attraction, will return to Holy Angels Church on December 15. A carryout menu offering options of Italian spinach pies, creamy stovetop polenta, and a chicken-spaghetti special will be available. Ordering is open for a limited time, while supplies last, and proceeds will benefit the efforts of the Holy Angels Social Outreach Ministry, whose mission is to provide for those in need.
