The Major Relics of St. Thomas Aquinas to visit Providence
PROVIDENCE — Faithful will have the opportunity to venerate St. Thomas Aquinas, one of the greatest Christian theologians. The skull of St. Thomas, which has been on tour in Europe for the past year for observances marking the jubilees of his canonization, death and birth, will be at two locations in Rhode Island on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The relics will be available for public veneration at Providence College starting at 2 p.m. in Saint Dominic Chapel. Masses will be celebrated in honor of Saint Thomas Aquinas at 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The relics will also visit St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton St. The schedule is as follows: 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. - Public veneration of the relics; 11:30 a.m. - Rosary; 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. - Confessions; 12 p.m. - Mass of St. Thomas Aquinas; 1:30 p.m.- Conclusion of Public Veneration.

Living Advent All Year: Practical Advice from St. Paul in Romans 12
PROVIDENCE — On Sunday, Dec. 7, 9:30 a.m. – noon, St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St., will host Living Advent All Year: Practical Advice from St. Paul in Romans 12. Too often during Advent we focus only on Jesus Christ’s first coming over 2,000 years ago. However, the Church also asks us to anticipate his second coming as well during this season. St. Paul’s epistle to the Romans begins with 11 chapters chock full of deep theology. Chapter 12 begins his advice about how we are to live in response to these amazing truths of our Catholic faith. Attendees will focus on five concepts from this single chapter of St. Paul: humility, honor, hospitality, harmony and hope, and consider how to apply these concepts not only to the Advent season, but also to our lives year-round. The presenter will be Christine Rubinstein, a retired Christian psychotherapist, convert to the Catholic Church, and parishioner at St Patrick’s.

Bristol County Chorus to perform at St. Mary’s Church
BRISTOL —The Bristol County Chorus will present their 43rd annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 8 at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., 3 p.m. The chorus, accompanied by a professional chamber orchestra, will be conducted by Director of Music Nicholas Rocha. Sounds of the Season Concert
PROVIDENCE — The Gregorian Concert Choir and Festival Orchestra will present a Concert entitled “The Sounds of the Season” at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Providence on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. The Concert, featuring the music of Advent and Christmas, will benefit the Diocese of Providence’s “Keep the Heat On” fund, which assists poor and low-income families with utility expenses. Knights, community to assist Veterans at Christmas
EAST PROVIDENCE — Operation ROVAC (Remembering Our Veterans At Christmas) will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14 at East Providence Council, 3200 Pawtucket Ave. from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. The 47 councils and 9 assemblies will gather donations of brand-new clothing and toiletries, bring them to East Providence, and deliver them on Sunday, December 15 to the R.I. Veterans Home. Knights will fill a 20 UHAUL panel truck with our donations to sustain the clothing and hygiene needs of the residents at the Veteran’s Home for a calendar year.
