Special information session planned for diocesan pilgrimage to the National Eucharistic Congress

CRANSTON — Interested to learn more about the once in a lifetime diocesan Pilgrimage to the National Eucharistic Congress? Join us Saturday, May 18 from 9-11 a.m. at Rejoice in Hope Center, Dyer Ave. This session is for those already registered for the July 2024 trip and for those who are interested. We will be reviewing logistics for the trip, going through the day-to-day itinerary, discussing any questions/concerns, and getting to know one another prior to our departure in July. There is NO obligation, this is an info session only.

Candlelight Procession
CUMBERLAND — Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive, will hold a candlelight procession on May 13, from 6-8:30 p.m. The event will begin with bilingual Mass accompanied by the candlelight procession at the shrine, weather permitting. CUMBERLAND — Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive, will hold a Holy Hour from 7:30 – 9 p.m., on May 18.
St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish to hold flea market
WOONSOCKET — St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, 174 Harris Ave., will hold an indoor/outdoor flea market on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will feature a Polish kitchen, pastry table, clothes for all ages, toys, books, baby items, glassware, appliances, chairs, floral arrangements, and more.
Pentecost Day of Recollection
PROVIDENCE — “Come Holy Spirit” A retreat on the meaning and power of the Solemnity of Pentecost will take place on Saturday, May 18, at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, from 11 a.m., concluding with 5 p.m. Mass. This special Pentecost Retreat Day will include reflections on sacred scripture, adoration, lunch, recitation of the rosary, confessions, solemn vespers, 5 p.m. Mass. Speakers will be Monsignor Anthony Mancini, rector of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, and Sister Elizabeth Castro, H.M.S.P., Director, Office for Religious, Diocese of Providence. Jesus Saviour Church Holy Ghost Feast
NEWPORT —Jesus Saviour Church, 1 Vernon Ave., will hold the Holy Ghost Feast on May 19 until 6 p.m., beginning with Mass at 10 a.m., followed by a short procession through the neighborhood and back to the church parking lot. Free Portuguese soup will be served at noon. Food including chourico sandwiches, hamburgers, hotdogs and favas will be available for purchase all day. An auction will take place later in the day.
Saint James School Reunion
MANVILLE — A reunion will be held on Sunday, May 19, for all who attended Saint James School. The event will begin with the celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. for the deceased alumni, followed by a gathering and hot buffet in Father Brindamour Hall, 33 Division St. For more information, contact Joan Morin at st.j.reunion2024@gmail.com.

Spring breakfast
EAST PROVIDENCE — Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave., will host a breakfast on Sunday, May 19, serving from 9 a.m. – noon. The menu will include ham, sausage, eggs, home fries, baked beans, pancakes, breakfast pastries, coffee, tea and juice. Saint John’s Seminary to host Summer Classic Golf Tournament
RUMFORD — Support the education of the region’s future priests at Saint John’s Seminary’s 22nd Annual Summer Classic Golf Tournament to be held at the historic Agawam Hunt Country Club, 15 Roger Williams Avenue. Ignatian Volunteer Corps seeks volunteers
PROVIDENCE — The Ignatian Volunteer Corps is currently seeking volunteers ages 50 and older to start in the Fall of 2024. Volunteers commit to serving one to two days per week for 10 months in parishes, schools or non-profit organizations working directly with those experiencing poverty or marginalization. Volunteers also engage in monthly opportunities for spiritual growth in the Jesuit tradition. Placement sites are located in the Providence, Worcester, and Boston areas.
