May breakfast at St. Anthony Church
NORTH PROVIDENCE — The Holy Name Society at St. Anthony Church will hold a May breakfast on Saturday, May 6 from 8 -11 a.m. and Sunday, May 7 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., in the St. Anthony Church Parish Center, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave. The breakfast will feature scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, ham, baked beans, pancakes, breakfast pastries, orange juice, coffee and tea. St. Martha’s to offer Marian Consecration
EAST PROVIDENCE — St. Martha’s Parish, 2595 Pawtucket Ave., will offer Marian Consecration with an orientation at the 4 p.m. Mass on May 6 and at the 9 a.m. Mass on May 7. Consecration booklets are free. Consecration will begin on May 14 and the Consecration day will take place at Mass, Saturday, June 17, the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Caffe Lepanto events
PROVIDENCE — Caffe Lepanto at St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton St., will host many events during the month of May. A Faith and Reason video and discussion series will be led by Father Robert Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D., on Mondays, from 12:45-2:30 p.m., on May 8, 15, 22 and 29. A Sacred Art video and discussion series will be led by Dr. Jem Sullivan on Wednesdays, from 12:45-2 p.m., on May 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. Family Rosary May Crowning
NORTH EASTON, Mass. — Family Rosary will host a traditional May Crowning at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 13. This free outdoor event will include the Rosary, a procession, crowning ceremony, music and festivities. First communicants are invited to wear outfits for the procession. EAST PROVIDENCE — Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave., will host a May Breakfast on Sunday, May 21, 9 a.m. – noon. The menu will include ham, sausage, eggs, home fries, baked beans, pancakes, breakfast pastries, coffee, tea and juice. The event will also feature raffles with special “Split the Pot” to end the morning. To purchase tickets please call the office at 401-434-3535 and leave your name and telephone number. The deadline to purchase advance tickets is May 14. A minimal number of tickets will be sold at the door.
Knights to hold annual Kandi Drive
PORTSMOUTH — The local Council 3618 of the Knights of Columbus will host their annual Kandi (Tootsie Roll) Drive on Friday, May 19 from noon – 6 p.m., and Saturday, May 20, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., in front of Clement’s Market, 2575 East Main Road. All proceeds to benefit the James L. Maher Center in Middletown, Rhode Island which fosters independence, opportunity, employment and social engagement for people with developmental and other disabilities through customized programs designed to meet their individual needs.
Magnificat Breakfast
GREENVILLE — Magnificat “Our Lady of Divine Providence,” an International Women’s Ministry will hold its next breakfast on Saturday, June 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Philip Parish Center. RHODE ISLAND — A growing number of Catholics are asking for counseling that reflects Catholic values and spirituality in addition to their needs or concerns. To meet this important need, the Diocese of Providence is hoping to add to its referral list of Catholic-oriented counselors. Counselors who are interested in being on the referral list should be a practicing Catholic, embrace the teachings of the Catholic Church, and have a valid license to practice counseling.
