Holy Hour in honor of the Sacred Heart
BARRINGTON — Bishop Hickey Knights of Columbus will hold a Holy Hour at Holy Angels Church, 341 Maple Ave., April 29 at 12:46 p.m. During the Holy Hour, an icon depicting the most famous image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, painted in 1767 by Pompeo Batoni and now venerated in the Church of the Gesù in Rome, will be displayed. This reproduction of the original image bears the blessing of Pope Francis and is one of more than 300 icons traveling across the world as part of the Knights of Columbus Pilgrim Icon Program.
Warwick Parishes to celebrate milestone anniversaries with Masses, special event
WARWICK — On May 4, St. Rita Church will celebrate their 90th anniversary St. Timothy Church will celebrate their 75th anniversary. The day will begin with 9 a.m. Mass at St. Timothy, 1799 Warwick Ave., and with 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Rita Church, 722 Oakland Beach Ave., followed by a dinner/dance at 1 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza, 301 Greenwich Ave., Warwick. Both churches have been a cornerstone of the community since their founding, Saint Rita in 1935 and St. Timothy in 1950 and this milestone is a testament to the faith and dedication of their parishioners. Vocational Retreat in Spanish
PROVIDENCE — A Vocations Retreat is being offered in Spanish for young men ages 18 to 34 who may feel called to the Priesthood and may want to know more about a path of discernment. Office of Family, Youth, and Young Adults to host “Cycle Prep-First Period Workshop for Girls”
CRANSTON — The Office of Family, Youth, and Young Adults is hosting Cycle Prep – First Period Workshop for Girls, from 10 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 10 at the Rejoice in Hope Catholic Center, 804 Dyer Ave., Cranston. Moms and/or Dads and their 9–11-year-old daughters are invited to hear this science-based presentation by Christina Valenzuela, Body Literacy Educator, who will help the girls understand their bodies as designed by God and be prepared for menstruation.
