‘40 Cans for Lent’
BRISTOL — Knights of Columbus Bristol Council #379 is holding a “40 Cans for Lent” program for families, from now through April 9. All donations can be placed in the large chest in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 141 State St., entryway.

PROVIDENCE — The image of Our Lady of Fatima will visit various parishes throughout Rhode Island March 10 - 20. The world-famous International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Fatima has been traveling since 1947, bringing the message of Fatima to a world in need. The purpose of the Pilgrim Virgin Statue tours is to bring the graces of Fatima and Our Lady’s message of hope, peace and salvation to those many millions of people who may never have an opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Fatima itself. 40 Days for Life 2023 Lenten Campaign
PROVIDENCE — This Lenten season, the Diocese of Providence’s Office of Life and Family Ministry invites the community to peacefully pray to end abortion, to convert hearts and minds and to speak for the voiceless, with 40 Days for Life daily now through Sunday, April 2. Knights to host Lenten baked fish dinners
PORTSMOUTH — The Knights of Columbus Council 3618 will offer baked fish dinners for Lent during the month of March at the St. Barnabas Social Hall on March 10, 17, 24 and 31, starting at 5 p.m. Children under the age of 6 eat for free. The menu includes New England clam chowder, baked Atlantic cod, coleslaw, rice or mashed potatoes, roll with butter, dessert, water, soda, coffee or tea. Take out will be available. Ticket Sales are in advance only up to 2 p.m. on the Thursday before each dinner and can be purchased at St. Barnabas and St. Anthony’s Office, and after all Masses. In addition, the Portsmouth Senior Center will sell tickets for this event.
Catholic Athletic League plans March Madness event
CRANSTON — The Catholic Athletic League of the Diocese of Providence is gearing up for this year’s basketball edition of “March Madness.” The annual Diocesan Basketball Championships will begin play beginning on Saturday, March 11, with more than 40 boys and girls teams of student athletes in grades 5 through 10 qualifying to participate. Games will be played on Sunday, March 12, as well as the following weekend March 18 and 19. This month the New England CYO Basketball Championships will also be held in Providence beginning on Friday, March 31, and continuing Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2. Father Michael Champagne to lead Lenten Mission

Knights plan Irish breakfast
NORTH KINGSTOWN —The Knights of Columbus will host a full traditional Irish breakfast at the council hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, on Sunday, March 12, from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. The menu will include scrambled eggs, Irish bangers, home fries, rashers, baked beans, corned beef hash, grilled tomatoes, Irish bread, orange juice, coffee and tea. St. Philip Life Teen to host Holy Hour, talk on the crucifixion
GREENVILLE — On March 13, St. Philip Life Teen and Edge will hold a special Holy Hour for youth in grades 6-12 and their parents at St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike. The evening will include 7 p.m. adoration and talk on the crucifixion by Father David Mary Engo, followed by an 8 p.m. reception.

Saint Joseph to hold All Day Confessions for 20th Year
WOONSOCKET — All-Day Confessions will be held at Saint Joseph Church, 1200 Mendon Road, on Saturday, March 25, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The day provides local Catholics the opportunity to go to confession on a day specifically designed to alleviate any uneasiness they may have about confessing. The all day confessions event is designed to address the fears that many people have about returning to this sacrament after years away. Volunteers will be available to answer questions, written instructions will be provided, and up to four priests will be available at all times. More than a dozen local priests in total take part in the day. Each confessional is equipped for both screen and face-to-face options.
