Roman Catholic counselors needed
RHODE ISLAND — A growing number of Catholics are asking for counseling that reflects Catholic values and spirituality in addition to their needs or concerns. To meet this important need, the Diocese of Providence is hoping to add to its referral list of Catholic-oriented counselors. Counselors who are interested in being on the referral list should be a practicing Catholic, embrace the teachings of the Catholic Church, and have a valid license to practice counseling. St. John Paul II Parish to hold an International Festival Night

A Catholic Understanding of Death and Dying
BARRINGTON — The St. Luke’s Church Respect Life Ministry will host an informative evening for Catholics and those interested in the Catholic teachings on the end of life, on Monday, May 22, 6:30 p.m. Dr. Pete Colosi, professor of Philosophy at Salve Regina University, will present the Catholic ethos and moral teachings on caring for vulnerable, sick and dying loved ones. Dr. Deacon Timothy Flanigan will speak from his perspective both as physician and permanent deacon. He’ll discuss the dignity of human life, the challenges we face as we approach dying, and share stories about graces present during those times. RSVP encouraged by May 21, however, walk-ins are welcome. The presentation will take place in Reverend Robert Hawkins church hall, in the basement of the church, 108 Washington Road. Take-Out Thursday to benefit social outreach
BARRINGTON — The original Take-Out Thursday, a charity food sale and popular East Bay attraction, will be held at Holy Angels Church on May 25. The carryout menu includes baked stuffed peppers, chicken salad pitas, a vodka penne and sausage special, and tapioca pudding. Ordering is open for a limited time, while supplies last, and proceeds will benefit the efforts of the Holy Angels Social Outreach Ministry, whose mission is to provide for those in need. Community Forum: Driver Privilege Cards for All
PROVIDENCE —The Diocese of Providence Office of Hispanic Ministry and Secretariat for Charities and Social Ministry, in partnership with the Fuerza Laboral organization and the Consulates of Colombia, Guatemala, and Mexico, are holding a forum on driver’s licenses for immigrants. During the forum these organizations will be sharing important information on how to apply for tax IDs, identification cards, and other relevant documents that are needed to obtain driver’s licenses.
