PHILADELPHIA — In honor of its 35th anniversary, Partners for Sacred Places — the only national, nonsectarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to the sound stewardship and active community use of America’s older religious properties — held a photo contest with the theme “Sacred Places at the Heart of Communities.”
Amateurs and professionals alike entered their original photos and a jury selected one grand prize winner as well as three category winners from the categories: Spiritual Moments; Education and Service; Open Space; and Arts and Community Events.
A photo taken by Rhode Island Catholic Correspondent Jennifer Barton of the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul from a uniquely pastoral perspective was voted the winning entry in the People’s Choice Award category of Open Space for her submission, “A Path to Faith.”
