Our Most Sincere Thanks for Your Support!

To all who contributed to Rhode Island Catholic’s Christmas Appeal — as well as those who remarkably and unfailingly continue to do so, even today as of this writing — we cannot thank you enough and are most grateful for your support!
While some other large diocesan newspapers have become casualties of the coronavirus pandemic, forced to shutter their operations permanently or move to publishing their content only online in response to the steep decline in print advertising this year, Rhode Island Catholic has been fortunate to have weathered the storm so far.
Our operations are funded by three streams of revenue: a generous subsidy from the diocese, paid subscriptions from our readers and the sale of advertising. It takes all three elements to keep us in business. So the Christmas Appeal is truly a lifesaver, especially in such times as we’re experiencing now. Every gift truly makes a difference and helps our newspaper to continue its long-standing mission of evangelizing to the faithful all across our diocese.
Through the leadership of our publisher, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, Rhode Island Catholic continues to be an essential part of the communications effort of the Diocese of Providence, delivering a wide array of news and information about the Church on the local, national and international levels directly into the homes of the faithful each week.
We are most grateful for your strong support, which enables us to continue this virtuous mission.
