On Tuesday, June 11, the newly ordained, Father Eric Silva and Father Brendan Rowley, celebrated a Mass on the Feast of St. Barnabas with the retired priests in residence at St. John Vianney Retirement Home. Following Mass, the new priests imparted their first priestly blessings on the retired priests present before all gathered for a light collation. Father Silva, above left, was the main celebrant and Father Rowley, above right, preached. In his homily, Father Rowley pointed out that, as St. Barnabas was a good man filled with faith and the Holy Spirit, so too were many of these retired priests who set a similar example by their priesthood and have inspired many to the faith. Father Thomas Woodhouse, Spiritual Director at Our Lady of Providence Seminary and Father Christopher Murphy, Vocations Director, also concelebrated the Mass.
