PAWTUCKET — Saint Raphael Academy will induct its second class into its Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Alpine Country Club in Cranston. The Hall of Fame event will honor those who have had a long association and outstanding record of service and loyalty to the Academy. The Hall of Fame event was originally scheduled for March 2020 and was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The inductees of the Class of 2020 are Dr. Paul J. Healey ’49, Dennis M. Lynch, Jr. ’74, Robert A. Magill ’29 and Br. Edmond P. Precourt, F.S.C.’63, all posthumous awards, and Patrick J. Nassaney ’64, James J. Noonan ’54, Martin J. Payton, Jr. ’54, Dr. Dennis M. Tracey ’63 and Robert A. Weygand ’66. Sadly, Brother Edmond passed away on April 9, 2020, before he could be inducted, but he was thrilled to know he was going to be part of Hall of Fame, and the Academy will now honor this wonderful Saints alum posthumously.
Nominees were chosen based on their demonstrated lifelong commitment to the Lasallian ideals of faith, service and community. Each nominee has embodied these beliefs in all aspects of his life and lived his faith as a Catholic in a significant manner. They also must have graduated at least 20 years prior to their nomination and exhibit unique social service and citizenship in the extended community in which they live.
This class will join the first 10 members, who were inducted in 2018. The Hall of Fame is permanently displayed in Alumni Hall, where it serves as inspiration to all students at Saint Raphael Academy—past, present and future—and is a historical record of those Saints who came before us and the positive impact they have had on others.
