Bishop Reed speaks at 2021 Convocation of Priests in historic Newport

The Diocese of Providence welcomed Bishop Robert Reed to the annual Convocation of Priests in historic Newport, held November 8-10, at the Gurney’s Conference Center. During his visit, Bishop Reed spoke to diocesan priests about the many challenges that clergy face. Throughout five presentations, he looked at life in the local church, post pandemic, and offered a series of reflections on topics including “Sacred Place and Space;” “Looking again at the Homily;” “Assembling God’s Holy People;” “The Person of the Priest;” and “Adapting Traditional and New Media into Invitations.” Bishop Reed was installed as an auxiliary bishop of Boston in 2017 and is currently the pastor of St. Patrick and Sacred Heart Church in Watertown, Massachusetts . He also serves as cabinet secretary for Catholic Media in the Archdiocese of Boston.
