Our Lady of Good Help and St. Theresa Shrine of the Little Flower were pleased to welcome Bishop Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., to their annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Sunday, June 8. Each year, the parish offers Mass followed by a meal to honor the many volunteers who assist with everything including cleaning the churches, greeting visitors, teaching Religious Education, and performing the countless tasks that make a parish run smoothly.
“It’s very important to me to set aside a day each year to make sure our volunteers know that their contributions are greatly appreciated. We want to acknowledge how much good and not always easy work that the people of this parish undertake to keep things going. It is especially important for the Shrine because we have so many visitors each year. I am very thankful for the contributions of these people. I’m often amazed by what God accomplishes through them,” said Father Jose Parathanal, CMI, pastor of the parish, gesturing to the more than 100 volunteers gathered in the church.
