TO THE EDITOR:

Many early 20th century feminists were opposed to abortion. Elizabeth Cady Stanton said, “When you consider women have been treated as property, it is degrading to women that we should treat our own children as property to be disposed of as we see fit.” Susan B. Anthony also had strong pro-life views and called abortion “child murder.” Alice Paul wrote, “Abortion is the ultimate exploitation of women.” So what went wrong with the Women’s Movement?
