The ‘breezy’ life of a seminarian

I read with interest the article on the 150th anniversary of the North American College in the January 14 edition of the RI Catholic.

However, I got a chuckle out of the caption for the accompanying picture which read “seminarian reads the Bible in a breezeway…”

I have always thought of breezeways as those charming little rooms that connect the garage and the house in many houses in Warwick and Cranston built in the 50’s and 60’s. Would not cloister or ambulatory been a more precise name for this structure. I somehow could not get the image of seminarians hanging around the breezeway enjoying a favorite adult beverage and watching the game on a hot summer afternoon.
