PORTSMOUTH – Teresa Bodah, 89, of Bristol Ferry Road, died June 24 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in North Kingstown. She was the wife of the late William N. Bodah and mother of Father Henry J. Bodah, chaplain of the Brown-RISD Catholic Community, Providence.

Born in Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rita (Alves) Grasse. She was a graduate of Rogers High School, Newport, and a member of URI’s first Master Gardener class.

She was a bookkeeper for Modern Furniture, and a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony Church. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club and the Ports-mouth Garden Club.

In addition to Father Bodah, she is survived by two other sons, Matthew M. Bodah and his wife, Susan Ryan, of Newport, and Timothy S. Bodah of Franklin, Mass.; a daughter, Paula M. Bodah and her husband, Alan Izzo, of North Kingstown, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Hilda Hughes and Josephine Sousa.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated today at St. Anthony Church, Portsmouth. Burial was in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.
