On Sunday, October 23, St. Pius X School, 44 Elm Street, Westerly, will host their first annual “Running on Faith 5K Walk/Run.”
The run will begin at the start line at St. Pius X School at 1 p.m. The goal of this event is to promote health and wellness in the community and to raise funds to enhance St. Pius’s physical education program.
St. Pius X parent Bethany Kennedy, who is helping to plan the event, said that she hopes it will showcase the students and their families.
“It is an event that will also bring the community together, not just St. Pius,” she explained. “It’s not just a walk run, it’s a way to be together.”
Refreshments and activities will be available for everyone at the end of the fun run. Awards will be presented to the top runners.
