Children in grades Pre-K to 2 at St. Philomena School in Portsmouth were entertained last week by a visit from Schmitty the Weather Dog of New “Yorkie” City. Schmitty, a Yorkshire Terrier, was accompanied by author Elly McGuire, at left, who read her book “Schmitty the Weather Dog—the story of Schmitty’s journey to weather dog status.” Ron Trotta, a New York meteorologist, also presented a weather lesson.
