Prayer Service for Remembrance and Repentance
PROVIDENCE — On August 9 at 7 p.m., join members of Pax Christi Rhode Island as they commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Nuclear Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with an hour-long Prayer Service for Remembrance and Repentance. The online event will include history, prayers, scripture readings, poetry, testimonies, live music and silence to mourn the victims. Participants are asked to have a candle ready to light. Theology on Fire
HARRISVILLE — Theology on Fire is a Young Adults Group that meets the second Friday of every month from April to November at the Shrine of the Little Flower, 35 Dion Drive. Young adults ages 16-35 are welcome to join for a lecture around a fire in the outdoor shrine. Following the lecture, adoration is held in the outdoor church. Directly afterwards, the group meets for pizza and community. The evening closes with Night Prayer at 9:50 p.m. The next event is scheduled to take place on Friday, Aug. 14.
Knights of Columbus to host annual Golf Tournament
RICHMOND — The Knights of Columbus will host its eighth annual Golf Tournament at the Richmond Country Club, 74 Sandy Pond Road, on Saturday, Aug. 15. All proceeds will benefit seminarians. St. Mary of the Bay offers Faith Formation resources
WARREN — St. Mary of the Bay Parish in Warren is accepting registrations for Faith Formation (formerly Religious Education.) The program will focus on the weekend Mass and provide at-home and online resources for families. The parish hopes to add in-person components as the situation permits.
