Amos House volunteer opportunity
PROVIDENCE — Amos House, 460 Pine St., a fully handicap accessible agency, prepares free tax returns for income-qualified individuals and families from the last week of January through mid-April. Please consider donating five hours of your time each week to serve as a tax preparer or greeter. Participants receive IRS training and certification. If you believe you’d enjoy using your skills to help the less fortunate in this way, and would like more information, please call Mike Speidel at 617-645-1584.
First Saturday Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at

BARRINGTON — The next First Saturday Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at St. Luke Parish will take place Dec. 7 from 8 – 10 a.m., and will continue every first Saturday thereafter. Refreshments will be served following the devotion.
St. Mark Church Christmas Bazaar
JAMESTOWN — On Saturday, Dec. 7, St. Mark Church will host its annual Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., featuring beautiful greenery, handmade items, baked goods and more for sale as well as chances to win raffle items and unique handcrafted basket raffles. Guests can stop by for a hot coffee or bite to eat while enjoying the Jamestown Holiday Stroll on Narragansett Avenue.
St. Paul the Apostle Church to host Christmas Bazaar
FOSTER — St. Paul the Apostle Church, 116A Danielson Pike, will host a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. - noon. The event will feature theme raffle baskets, handmade knit items, balsam wreaths, jewelry and penny social tables and a Snack Shack, and much more. A drawing will be held at the bazaar on Sunday, Dec. 8.
Holiday Concert at St. Agnes Church
PROVIDENCE — St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave,, will hold a holiday concert, “A Journey from Advent to Christmas,” on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. This evening of sacred music will feature the Rhode Island College Chamber Singers directed by Teresa Coffman and the St. Agnes Choir directed by Maria Bedrosian. Admission is free. A free will offering will be taken up to support the Parish Supply Closet, which benefits the needy in the area. A reception will follow in the church hall. All are welcome.
St. Joseph Church to hold Christmas Bazaar
CENTRAL FALLS — A Christmas Bazaar will be held at St. Joseph Church, 391 High St., on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the parish center. The event will feature Polish food, children’s entertainment, a flea market, Polish pastry and more.

Mass for healing offered at St. James Chapel
CHARLESTOWN — A Mass for healing will be offered at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m., by Father Paul Desmarais, pastor of St. Mary/St. James Parish. Those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age may receive the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick within Mass. Breakfast with Santa
NORTH SCITUATE — A Breakfast with Santa will take place at St. Joseph’s Church, 144 Danielson Pike, on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 8:30 - 11:30 am. Children 3 and under are free. Entrance includes breakfast, a photo, and a small gift for children 12 and under. All are welcome.
Knights of Columbus annual Charity Ball

Annual Nativity Lighting at the Rhode Island Statehouse
PROVIDENCE — The annual Nativity Lighting in the Rhode Island Statehouse Rotunda will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 3 – 4 p.m. The Nativity scene will be lit, celebrating the coming birth of Christ, followed by sung Christmas carols and Christmas cookies donated by Buono’s Bakery. The event is presented by the Joy to the World Nativity Committee and sponsored by The Thomas More Society and Media Sponsors Relevant Radio and Rhode Island Catholic. Father Michael A. Kelley, pastor of St. Agatha and Precious Blood Churches in Woonsocket, will offer a blessing over the Nativity scene and over all those in attendance.
St. Pius V School Christmas Concert
PROVIDENCE — St. Pius V School will hold a free Christmas Concert on Friday, Dec. 13 in the church, 55 Elmhurst Ave., from 6:30 - 8 p.m. The concert will feature traditional Christmas songs from across the world in celebration of the diversity within the school community.
Sacred Heart School to present Christmas concert
EAST PROVIDENCE — Sacred Heart School will present its annual Christmas Concert in the upper church, at 118 Taunton Ave., on Friday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. The program will include music from all the classes as well as by the SHS Chorus and Band. Admission is free.

Knights to collect clothing and other items for R.I. Veteran’s Home

Final Christmas concert at St. Charles Borromeo
WOONSOCKET — St. Charles Borromeo Church will host its final Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. in the parish, 8 Daniels St. The concert will feature the adult choir, with special guests the Providence Youth Classical Guitar Ensemble. This event is free and open to the public. Bristol County Chorus to present annual Christmas concert
BRISTOL — The Bristol County Chorus will present its 39th annual Christmas concert accompanied by a professional orchestra on Sunday, Dec. 15, at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., at 3 p.m. The chorus and orchestra will be conducted by director of music, Nicholas Rocha. St. Margaret Church to feature annual Christmas Concert and Pageant
RUMFORD — Ron Procopio, director of music at St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., will lead the annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m. All are invited to celebrate the Advent and Christmas seasons with the senior choir, junior singers and parish musicians offering both sacred and contemporary music. A live, narrated Nativity Story will be re-enacted by the parish youth. A free will collection will support “Keep the Heat On,” the Diocese of Providence program for heating assistance. Admission is free and open to the public.
Week of Christmas Concerts at St. Kevin Church
WARWICK — A Week of Christmas Concerts at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, is scheduled as follows: On Tuesday Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m. enjoy the sounds of Christmas with the Ocean State Pops Orchestra to benefit the Hope Alzheimer’s Center. The concert will feature the 60-piece orchestra performing holiday favorites. Tickets are available at the door or online at OceanStatePops.org. On Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m., the free parish concert will take place with the choirs of St. Kevin, St. Benedict, St. Rita and St. Timothy Churches, with special guests: the Bishop Hendricken Young Men’s Choir, Santa and a surprise guest or two. On Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. the West Bay Chorale celebrates their 40th season with “Welcome Yule,” a salute to the Christmas season. There will be a reception following the concert, and to commemorate their 40 years as an organization, they have invited alumni to join in the final song. Knights of Columbus to host blood drive
EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence Knights of Columbus, Council 1528, in cooperation with the Rhode Island Blood Center, will host a blood drive on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Columbus Club Hall, 3200 Pawtucket Ave. Each donation can save three lives.
