Join Bishop Tobin for a Pilgrimage to La Salette Shrine to pray for vocations

ATTLEBORO, Mass. — All are welcome to join Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, priests, seminarians and lay faithful from around the Diocese to make a pilgrimage to La Salette Shrine in Attleboro to pray for vocations to priesthood and the consecrated life during our Diocesan Year with Mary Our Mother. The day will begin on Saturday, Nov. 11, at La Salette at 11 a.m. and conclude by 3 p.m. It will include Mass with the Bishop, lunch, an outdoor rosary and opportunities for prayer and confessions. SVET, Electro Hip-Hop Violinist from NBC’s ‘America’s Got Talent’

PROVIDENCE — SVET, the Electro Hip Hop Violinist from “America’s Got Talent” performs for one night only at McVinney Auditorium, 43 Dave Gavitt Way, Providence, Friday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. This special concert will also feature the instrumental talents of the students from two Providence schools — the Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts (TAPA) and LaSalle Academy. Holy Family Parish to host annual parish bazaar

WOONSOCKET — Holy Family Parish will host their annual parish bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., in the church hall at 414 South Main St. The bazaar will feature a “Gift Certificate Penny Social” as well as a theme basket raffle, “Split-the-Pot” and major raffle prizes. Also, the event’s many crafters will include a vintage booth, jewelry, “Grandma’s Attic Treasures,” book nook, handmade items and a wonderful baked goods booth featuring homegrown local organic honey, breads, pastries and jams. There will also be games for children and a kitchen offering dynamites, French meat pie, homemade soup and meatball sandwiches.

St. Mary planning Autumn Angel Bazaar

WEST WARWICK — St. Mary Church, 68 Church St., will host its Autumn Angel Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 22, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. The bazaar will feature raffles, themed baskets, a penny social table, roll-up tables, handmade crafts, a children’s booth, baked goods, jewelry, a Christmas table and stocking stuffers. Knights of Columbus to hold a Clam Cakes and Chowder Dinner

Saint Jude Triduum/Parish Mission

PROVIDENCE — Saint Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will offer Masses and Novenas for three evenings in honor of Saint Jude from Sunday, Oct. 22 - Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. A reception and raffle drawing will follow Mass on the last evening of the St. Jude Triduum.

Warwick Symphony Concert at St. Kevin

WARWICK — On Sunday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. the Warwick Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane. The event will feature the romantic music of Mendelssohn, Elgar and Dvorak. General Admission tickets are $10 each and are available at the door the night of the performance. Hope & Cope Group meetings scheduled

PORTSMOUTH — The next meeting of the Hope & Cope Group is Sunday, October 22, at 5 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road. Hope & Cope is a faith-based support group intended for those struggling with or supporting a family member or a friend struggling with alcohol or drug addictions or mental distress. Hope & Cope is open to everyone interested in this ministry. Meetings are held in the Chapel Meeting Room (under the small Chapel) from 5 – 6 p.m. This program is free, and no registration is required. Woonsocket community seeks to ‘Get Better’ through prayer

WOONSOCKET — The faith community of Woonsocket will unite once again at the 5th annual Woonsocket Day of Prayer. The event will be held at River Island Park on Saturday, October 28 under the theme “Better Together,” and begin at 11 a.m. Representatives from more than 25 Woonsocket-based churches will be coming together to call out to God on behalf of the city in the belief that one does not pray separately as a Pentecostal, Baptist or Catholic Christian. Rather, all are united by our common belief in the name of Jesus and the power of unity. According to Bishop Herson Gonzalez, spiritual leader of Woonsocket’s Calvary Worship Center, “It takes more than smart planning and brave leadership to bring a city like ours out of its current woes. We believe that Prayer can make a difference. Planning without prayer is presumptuous.”

St. John Vianney Church to offer Dynamic Catholic “Find Your Greatness” Event

Masses for Recovery scheduled

PORTSMOUTH/WEST WARWICK — The next Mass for Recovery will be offered on Sunday, October 29 at 5 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. These Masses, to which all are welcome, provide an opportunity for people to come together in faith to seek God’s loving kindness and grace with special prayer intentions dedicated for those in recovery. If you or loved ones struggle with alcohol, drugs, addictions, mental distress, or support folks who suffer from the effects of these issues, you are encouraged to attend. St. Brendan Parish hosting three-part series on salvation

RIVERSIDE — St. Brendan Parish will host a three-part series, “The Story of Salvation.” Using Scripture as a guide, it will offer a grand sweep of God’s work in history, focusing on major themes, significant figures, and pivotal events. Theology on Tap scheduled

JOHNSTON — Young Adults, single or married, in their 20s and 30s are invited to Theology on Tap on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 6 – 8:30 p.m., at Uncle Tony’s Pizza & Pasta, 46 Putnam Pike (Rt. 44). The topic will be “New Age and the Occult,” a conversation about the supernatural, what is real what is not, what is ok and what to avoid. The speaker will be Rev. Christmas Bazaar scheduled at Holy Family Parish

PAWTUCKET — Holy Family Parish will host their annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., in the parish hall, 195 Walcott St. Highlights include a large cash raffle with prizes totaling $500, a large gifts raffle with items valued at $75 or more; a gift basket raffle valued from $20-$40, and jewelry and crafts for sale, with a children’s booth and kitchen open all day. Proceeds from the bazaar affect parish ministries as local services to the poor.

All Saints Parish to host Christmas Bazaar

Christmas Bazaar slated at St. Kevin’s Parish

WARWICK — St. Kevin’s Parish will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., at Bishop Hendricken High School, 2615 Warwick Ave. The bazaar will feature a big cash raffle, handcrafted items, baked goods, turkey trot, attic treasures, books, penny social, basket raffles, Christmas decor, and much more.
