Mental Illness support group offered at Holy Family Parish

PAWTUCKET — National Alliance on Mental Illness Rhode Island support group at Holy Family Parish will be offered the second Wednesday of every month, 6:30 p.m.; at St. Joseph’s church hall, 195 Walcott St. This is a confidential and safe support group for adults living with Mental Illness.

Saint Jude Triduum and Parish Mission

PROVIDENCE — Saint Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will hold a Novena for three evenings in honor of Saint Jude on Sunday, Oct. 21, Monday, Oct. 22, and Tuesday, Oct. 23. Mass and Novena prayers will be offered at 6 p.m. The theme of the St. Jude Triduum/Mission is “Hope for the Hopeless.” There will be veneration of the relic on Monday night. A reception and raffle drawing will follow Mass on the last evening of the St. Jude Triduum.

Hope and Cope support group to meet

PORTSMOUTH — The St. Matthias Ministry Hope and Cope Support Group will meet on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 5 - 6 p.m. in the chapel meeting room, under the chapel, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E Main Road. If you know someone who is supporting a loved one or friend in need of recovery or currently in recovery yourself, then this group is for you. This program is free. No registration is required. Sacred Heart to host Deanery IV Holy Hour

WEST WARWICK — Sacred Heart Parish, 820 Providence St., will host a Deanery Hour on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. The evening will include exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, rosary, homily, Litany of Loreto and benediction. All are welcome. Bring a friend.

Healing service with Father Pat

WEST WARWICK — Father Andre Patenaude, M.S., better known as Father Pat of the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette, will hold a healing service at Our lady of Good Counsel Church, Pleasant Street, on October 23 at 7 p.m. Those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age may receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick within Mass.For More information, call 401-821-8042.

Holy Angels Parish to host Fall Pasta Dinner

BARRINGTON — Holy Angels Parish will host its annual fall pasta dinner on Thursday, Oct. 25, and all are welcome. Dinner, coffee and dessert will be served in the downstairs, elevator-accessible church hall from 4:30 – 7 p.m. Seating and take-out will be available. Youth, Identity, Same-Sex Attraction and the Church

PROVIDENCE — Avera Maria Santo will be at St. Patrick Church, Providence, on Thursday, October 25 at 7 p.m. to witness her personal experiences regarding “Youth, Identity, Same-Sex Attraction, and the Church.” This will be the final evening of a four-part series hosted by St. Patrick Church. Avera Maria is a 21-year-old, vibrant and joyful up and coming speaker, known for her love of the Catholic Church’s teachings on same-sex attraction. This evening is free. Suggested audience: middle-school-age youth and up. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children. A free-will offering will be taken up. ‘Sexual Revolution, 50 years since Humanae Vitae’

WESTERLY — The St. Pius X Respect Life Committee will sponsor a viewing of the documentary “Sexual Revolution, 50 years since Humanae Vitae,” on Friday, Oct. 26, at St. Pius X Church Hall, from 6 – 8 p.m. A presentation following the documentary will be given by Dr. Michelle Cretella. Harvest Bazaar at St. Elizabeth’s Church

BRISTOL — The Holy Rosary Sodality of St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood St., will hold their 46th annual Harvest Bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Parish Auditorium (building adjourned to church) from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The event will include specialty booths, handmade items, raffles, bingo, Portuguese and American foods and free face painting from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. All proceeds from our bazaar will go directly to St. Elizabeth Church.

St. Gregory Church to host Fall Lecture Series on Homelessness

WARWICK — St. Gregory the Great Church is bringing together community leaders for a three-part series on consecutive Tuesdays from now through October 30 to discuss various aspects of homelessness. Women’s Magnificat Breakfast

Abby Johnson to Speak at the Cathedral, calling all artists

PROVIDENCE — Servants of Christ for Life is very excited to announce that one of the world’s most appealing pro-life speakers will be coming to Rhode Island for the 2018 Truth, Goodness, Beauty event at the Providence Cathedral on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. Abby Johnson is a former Planned Parenthood clinic director. Come hear Abby’s story that led her to the pro-life movement and the Catholic Church. Truth, Goodness, Beauty is a Catholic, pro-life event.
