St. Joseph’s Church to celebrate Polish Festival

A Day of Remembrance
RIVERSIDE — The Office of Life and Family Ministry invites the community to gather at the Guardian Angel – Baby Land area of the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 10 – 11 a.m. This special prayerful event is dedicated to all babies that have died from an abortion, a miscarriage, stillbirth and early infant death. It will include reflections, the Rosary and other prayers for all the babies. This event is being held simultaneously with the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children.
40 Days for Life Fall Campaign to begin
PROVIDENCE — The prayer vigils begin on Wednesday, Sept, 26 however, the actual kick-off will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 8 a.m. Participants will meditate on the Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary of Our Lady. Please share one hour of your time during the campaign to pray outside of Planned Parenthood. The diocesan Office of Life & Family Ministry is also asking those who are not able to join in the public prayer vigils to consider pledging a Rosary for 40 Days to end abortion.
14th Annual Human Life Guild Day
PROVIDENCE — This year’s Human Life Guild Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will be the main celebrant and homilist for the 9 a.m. Mass. Following Mass, there will be a reception with the bishop in the cathedral hall with presentations covering “Humanae Vitae - 50 Years Later,” “The Modern Debate – Understanding Transgenderism from a Catholic Perspective,” “Hope for the Future,” and “Being a Pro-Life Feminist.” All are invited to attend the Mass, but pre-registration is required for the conference that will follow. Respect Life Month begins with Life Chain Sunday
PROVIDENCE — The first Sunday in October is traditionally the beginning of Respect Life Month. During October, faithful call to mind, through prayer and peaceful vigils, all the innocent lives that are lost each day because of abortion. Join or host a Life Chain on Sunday, October 7. Participation is encouraged between 2 – 3pm in front of your parish or a visible area. Reserve one hour to pray to end abortion.
