St. Joseph and St. Patrick Churches announce summer Mass schedules
PASCOAG — St. Joseph, Pascoag, and St. Patrick, Harrisville, Churches announce summer Mass schedules. The new schedule is as follows: Saturday, 4 p.m., St. Patrick Church, 45 Harrisville Main St., Harrisville; Sunday, 8 a.m., St. Joseph Church, 183 Sayles Ave., Pascoag; Sunday, 10 a.m., St. Patrick Church. These times will run through the weekend of Labor Day, August 31 and September 1.
National Alliance on Mental Illness support group at Holy Family
PAWTUCKET — National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, will offer its Rhode Island support group at Holy Family the second Wednesday of every month, 6:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s church hall, 195 Walcott St. NAMI is a confidential and safe support group for adults living with mental illness.
St. Joseph Church Indoor Summer Yard Sale
PASCOAG — St. Joseph Church, 183 Sayles Ave., will host an indoor yard sale on Friday, July 26, from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday, July 27 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Come browse through a wide variety of goods—toys, puzzles, clothing, crystal, pans suitable for campers, dishes, flatware, home décor and more. Beverages and food will be available for purchase. The parish is handicap accessible.
Clam cake and chowder dinner at Our Lady of Good Counsel
WEST WARWICK — Our Lady of Good Counsel, 62 Pleasant St., will host a dinner on Friday, July 26, from 5 – 7 p.m. on church grounds. The menu will feature clam cakes, chowder, chicken tenders and fries. Tickets will be available that evening and take out will also be available.
Jesus Saviour Church to host summer bazaar
NEWPORT — Jesus Saviour Church will hold its annual summer bazaar on the Vernon Avenue grounds Thursday, July 25 through Saturday, July 27, from 6 – 11 p.m. If Saturday is rained out, food and drink only Sunday, from noon-5 p.m. The bazaar will feature bingo, pull tabs and many booths. Homemade fava, chourico sandwiches and homemade pastries will be available. Paws from the Pawtucket Red Sox will visit on Friday, from 6 – 7 p.m. On Thursday and Friday evenings there will be a raffle drawing for $250. The major raffle drawings totaling $2,500 will be drawn on Saturday evening. Admission is free and open to the public.
Saint Theresa Parish Summer Dinner
TIVERTON — Saint Theresa Parish will host a Parish Summer Dinner event on Saturday, July 27, 5 p.m. at St. Theresa Church Hall, 265 Stafford Road. The menu will include appetizer, chowder, fresh salad, steak tips, seafood casserole, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, dinner rolls, dessert, water, soda, coffee. Masses for Recovery
PORTSMOUTH — The next Mass for Recovery will be offered on Sunday, July 28, 5 p.m., at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Rd. These Masses, to which all are welcome, provide an opportunity for people to come together in faith to seek God’s loving kindness and grace with special prayer intentions dedicated for those in recovery. If you or loved ones struggle with alcohol, drugs, addictions, mental distress, or support folks who suffer from the effects of these issues, you are encouraged to attend. Summer Bible Series
NARRAGANSETT — St. Thomas More/St. Veronica Chapel present Summer Bible Series entitled, “The Mystery of Human Suffering: The Book of Job and St. John Paul II’s Apostolic Letter, Salvifici Doloris.” The series will take place each Tuesday, continuing July 30 – August 27, 9:30-11 a.m., at St. Thomas More Parish Hall, Rockland Street.
St. Bartholomew Church annual Feast and Festival
PROVIDENCE — St. Bartholomew Church will hold its 51st annual feast and festival on August 9, 10, and 11 offering Italian, Spanish, and American foods and pastries, raffles, family friendly rides and games, and musical entertainment. The festival will be open nightly from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. On Sunday, August 11, a tri-lingual Mass in honor of St. Bartholomew will be held at 10:30 a.m. with traditional religious procession following. St. Elizabeth’s Church to host Vacation Bible School
BRISTOL — St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., will offer Vacation Bible School the week of August 12 - 16 from 9 a.m. - noon. Vacation Bible School is for campers in Grades K- 5. Diocesan Youth Day to be a day of music, Sacraments, fun and fellowship
CUMBERLAND — This year’s Diocesan Youth Day will be held on Saturday, September 7 from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Parish. The event held rain or shine (much of it will be outdoors) is for high school, college aged youth and young adults. The day will feature music, games, workshops, Mass, adoration, reconciliation, food, fun and much more. The theme "Anchored" seeks to rouse the hearts of our young people to passionately grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
