Dominican Friars of Providence College to present lectures on the Acts of the Apostles

St. Francis of Assisi Parish to host Pizza and Bingo
WAKEFIELD — St. Francis of Assisi Parish will hold its fourth annual Pizza and Bingo Night Friday, April 26, from 5:30 - 8 p.m., in Father Greenan Hall on High Street. Local restaurants and merchants have donated food, gifts, certificates, toys, games and other items. Tickets are available at the door and include two pizza slices, salad, dessert, beverage and bingo cards.
Fundraiser to benefit life and family programs
PAWTUCKET — The Office of Life and Family Ministry will sponsor a fundraiser dinner on Saturday, April 27, from 6 - 10 p.m., at St. John Paul II Church (St. Cecilia’s), 1253 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. The dinner is being held to support the diocesan pastoral care programs: St. Gabriel’s Call (pregnancy and beyond outreach and pre-natal diagnosis assistance and awareness), and Project Rachel/Rachel’s Vineyard (post-abortion ministry). The evening will begin with a social hour that includes a 50-50 raffle and a penny social. Pro-Life Spring Rosary Novena
PROVIDENCE — Please join Servants of Christ for Life on Saturday mornings from April 27 to June 22 for the Spring Rosary Novena. Mass will begin at 8 a.m. at Holy Ghost on Atwells Avenue, followed by praying the Rosary at Planned Parenthood at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend and offer up this time in prayer for an end to abortion. Divine Mercy Sunday Devotion, First Saturday Devotion
PROVIDENCE — The St. Augustine Council of the Knights of Columbus, in conjunction with the Men of St. Joseph and Relevant Radio (550 AM), will host two devotions at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed in music and song at 10:45 a.m. on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 28. The final in the series of five First Saturday Devotions (in music and song) will take place on Saturday May 4. Devotions begin with the Sacrament of Reconciliation 3:45 p.m. (continuing until 5 p.m.), the Holy Rosary in music and song at 4 p.m., private meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and Mass with Holy Communion beginning at 5 p.m.

Sister Angela Daniels to be honored

Knights to host Portuguese Breakfast
NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will hold a Portuguese Breakfast at the council hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, on Sunday, April 28, from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. The menu will include eggs, Portuguese-style potatoes, linguica, baked beans, massa (traditional Portuguese sweetbread), Portuguese breakfast pastries, orange juice, coffee and tea will be served.

PORTSMOUTH — The next Mass for Recovery will be offered on Sunday, April 28, 5 p.m., at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road. These Masses, to which all are welcome, provide an opportunity for people to come together in faith to seek God’s loving kindness and grace with special prayer intentions dedicated for those in recovery. If you or loved ones struggle with alcohol, drugs, addictions, mental distress, or support folks who suffer from the effects of these issues, you are encouraged to attend. Theology on Tap
JOHNSTON — On Thursday, May 2, from 6 – 8:30 p.m., young adults, single or married, in their 20s and 30s are invited to Theology on Tap, at Uncle Tony’s Pizza & Pasta, 46 Putnam Pike (Rt. 44). The topic will be “What is the Trinity,” led by Dr. Robert Barry, Associate Professor of Theology, Providence College. Social hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation and Q&A at 7 p.m. There is no fee for this event. A free-will donation will be collected. Mass for healing offered
PROVIDENCE — The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will be offered within Mass at St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Ave., on Saturday, May 4 at 11 a.m., by Father Joseph Pranzo, parochial vicar of St. Bartholomew Parish. This Mass will be offered every third Saturday every other month, except this month due to a scheduled holy Communion celebration the third Saturday of May. The usual schedule will resume in two months. Those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age may receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick within Mass. Little Sisters celebrating 150 years in America with anniversary Mass
PROVIDENCE — The Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Residence of Pawtucket will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the congregation’s arrival in the United States with a special anniversary Mass on Saturday, May 4, at 10:30 a.m., at the Cathedral of SS. Msgr. Sabourin Vacation Bible Camp for people with disabilities
PROVIDENCE — The Office of the Apostolate for People with Disabilities and St. Patrick Church in Providence announces the “Msgr. Sabourin Vacation Bible Camp” for people with disabilities of all ages. The camp will be at St. Patrick Church, Providence from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., June 24-28. Space is limited, brown bag lunch will be provided by families. Limited scholarships are available.
