Free Income Tax Preparation
PROVIDENCE — Amos House, 460 Pine St., a fully handicap-accessible agency, prepares free income tax returns for those who earned $55,000 or less in 2018. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening appointments may be made through April 12 by calling 401-272-0220. Amos House will also host Saturday walk-in-only sessions on April 13 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Other free tax sites in R.I. and Mass. may be found by calling the number 211.

First Saturday Devotions
PROVIDENCE — St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., will hold First Saturday Devotions (in song) on the first Saturday of each month through May. The next devotion is Saturday, April 6, with the final devotions scheduled for May 4. Devotions begin with the sacrament of reconciliation at 3:45 p.m., continuing until 5 p.m.; the Holy Rosary in song at 4 p.m.; private meditation on the mysteries of the rosary at 4:30 p.m.; and Mass beginning at 5 p.m. All are invited.
Project FAITH to host seminar: Pastoral Workers Responding to Persons with Mental Illness
PROVIDENCE — The 42nd Project FAITH will host a one-day seminar on Saturday, April 6, at the Providence College Ruane Great Room from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The topic will be “Pastoral Workers Responding to Persons with Mental Illness, led by Father Bob Malloy, OFM. Father Malloy will discuss welcoming and valuing all people regardless of their limitations. Father Malloy is the chaplain at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit where he serves as director of Pastoral Care. The event is free of charge, but there will be limited sitting. St. Pius V School to host Spring gala

Annual Easter Ham Roll at St. Mary of the Bay
WARREN — St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., will host their annual Easter ham roll on Sunday, April 7, from noon – 4 p.m. The afternoon of fun for all ages will include ham raffles, cash raffles, games, door prizes and more. KINGSTON — Christ the King Parish, 180 Old North Road, will celebrate a Mass with Anointing of the Sick on Sunday, April 7, at 1 p.m. Those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age may receive the sacrament of anointing of the sick within Mass.
A Mass for healing for all types of addictions to be celebrated
CHARLESTOWN — A Mass for healing for all types of addictions will be offered at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoolhouse Rd., on Sunday, April 7, at 2 p.m. If you have an addiction, know someone who does, or have lost a loved one because of addiction, please come. St. Vincent de Paul Society dinner to benefit soup kitchen
WEST WARWICK — The West Bay St. Vincent de Paul Society will hold its annual Pat Collins Dinner to benefit the Saturday Soup Kitchen at the West Warwick Senior Center. John and Paul parish, 341 South Main St., will host the Deanery Holy Hour for Life on Thursday, April 11, at 7 p.m. The evening will include exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, praying of the rosary, silent adoration, the Litany of Loreto, and Benediction. Taste of summer

PAWTUCKET — On Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., Woodlawn Catholic Regional School will host a giant outdoor yard sale at 61 Hope St. in Pawtucket. In the event of rain, the yard sale will be held on Saturday, April 20. Items available to purchase will include small furniture, books, music, toys, Christmas items, tools, lots of household items and much more. Vendors are welcome to rent space to sell their personal items. Anyone interested should call 965-4312. Spaghetti Dinner in support of man in need of kidney

PAWTUCKET — The Little Sisters of the Poor will collect Easter hams and candy on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main St. Each year, the Sisters, residents and volunteers look forward to greeting visitors and accepting generous contributions of hams which will fill their refrigerators with future meals for their residents. St. Francis Church to present an organ concert on Palm Sunday
WAKEFIELD — On Palm Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m., Dr. Enrico Garzilli will perform his second Organ Symphony, entitled “The Final Week,” a symphony in four movements is a musical meditation on the last week of Jesus, at St. Francis Church. It begins with the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, journeys with him through Holy Week and culminates with his Resurrection on Easter Sunday. The symphony is a deeply spiritual and moving tone poem on his last week. All are welcome.
Hope and Cope support group to meet
PORTSMOUTH — The St. Matthias Ministry Hope and Cope Support Group will meet on Sunday, April 21, from 5 - 6 p.m. in the chapel meeting room, under the chapel, at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 E. Main Road. If you know someone who is supporting a loved one or friend in need of recovery or currently in recovery yourself, then this group is for you.
