St. Thomas Church to host pasta and meatball dinner

PROVIDENCE — There will be a pasta and meatball dinner held in the St. Thomas Church hall, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., on Saturday, Jan. 13, from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Dinner will include pasta and meatballs, salad and desserts. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be for purchase. Cost for the dinner is $10 a person. Proceeds will benefit a local family in need. Knights of Columbus to host breakfast

NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will host a breakfast at the Council Hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, on Sunday, January 14, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The menu will include eggs, bacon, toast, homefries, baked beans, pancakes, hot and cold cereal, orange juice, coffee and tea. The cost is $10, children 6 and under are free.

Learn about ‘Financial Peace’ at St. Raymond Church

PROVIDENCE — St. Raymond Church, 1240 North Main St., will offer Financial Peace University on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. starting January 15. This 9-week class teaches God’s ways of handling money and focuses on budgeting, paying off debt, living within your means and being generous with the gifts God has given you. ‘Meeting Jesus’ faith formation program scheduled

RIVERSIDE — All are invited to take part in a one session faith formation program entitled “Meeting Jesus,” on Monday, Jan. 15, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the school basement of St. Brendan’s. It will be a practical exploration of how we can get to know Jesus through the scriptures, the sacraments and the saints. It is great for those who have been away from the faith or have never believed in Christ. Light refreshments will be served. Bring a friend and spread the word. American Heritage Girls to host open registration

SEEKONK, Mass. — The American Heritage Girls will hold open registration on January 18, from 3:45 – 5:15 p.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Ave. (Rte. 44) Seekonk, Mass. Parents and daughters are welcome to join us to learn about AHG and enjoy some faith, service and fun. Knights of Columbus to host Blood Drive

RIVERSIDE — The Knights of Columbus Council 1528 in East Providence, working with the Rhode Island Blood Center, will host a Blood Drive on Sunday, Jan. 21, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at 3200 Pawtucket Ave. All presenting donors will receive a Dunkin Donuts gift card. Donors are asked to be certain they eat a good meal and stay hydrated before donating, as well as to bring identification. Appointments are strongly encouraged. Diocesan Bereavement Support Program scheduled at St. Lucy Church

MIDDLETOWN— The Office of Life and Family of the Diocese of Providence will offer the Our Lady of Sorrows Bereavement Support Program at St. Lucy Church, 909 West Main Road, in the parish center, each Thursday evening 7 -8:30 p.m., February 1 through March 22. This support group provides topics about grief and healing, the spiritual comforts of the Catholic Faith and a peaceful environment for adults to share about their grief after the loss of a loved one. Catholic Underground, ‘Stand’ film screening to take place at St. Patrick Church

PROVIDENCE — Catholic Underground will be held at St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St., on January 13, beginning with holy hour at 8 p.m. Vespers and worship music provided by Revive Ministry.
