HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION

Solemnity of All Saints

Posted

On Thursday, November 1, 2018, the Catholic Church (Latin Rite) celebrates the Solemnity of All Saints. It is a holy day of Obligation. Catholics throughout the United States are obliged to attend Holy Mass. The Solemnity of All Saints commemorates all those who have attained the “beatific vision” in heaven. On this day the Church remembers all those men and women, known and unknown, who have attained their eternal reward in heaven. These holy men and women intercede for us at the throne of God in heaven and offer us the greatest hope that one day we will all be united with them.
