Sister Lillian Paula Cravinho, S.S.D

WARREN — Sister Lillian Paula Cravinho, S.S.D., 84, of Our Lady of Fatima Convent, Warren, died at Rhode Island Hospital on Oct. 23, 2009.

Born in Taunton, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Antone and Delphina (Berthao) Cravinho.

Educated in Taunton and New York schools, Sister Lillian graduated from the Academy of St. Dorothy, and received a B.A. in Education from Fordham University, both in New York, later receiving her M.A. in Guidance & Counseling from City University of New York.

A gifted teacher for many years, she also served as principal of the Academy of St. Dorothy, and St. Patrick School, both in New York, and Our Lady of Fatima High School in Warren.

Sister Lillian was currently serving as guidance counselor at Our Lady of Fatima High School.

She leaves a brother, Edmund Cravinho of Salem, Ore.; a sister, Bella Maclean of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Alfred, George, Charles, and Antone Cravinho, and the late Agnes Medeiros.

Her funeral was held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Anthony Church, Taunton at 11 a.m. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
