Sister Jeanne Robillard

PUTNAM, CT. — Daughter of the Holy Spirit Jeanne Robillard, 91, died Feb. 23 at the Holy Spirit Health Care Center. She was formerly known as Sister Charles Cecile.

Born in Tupper Lake, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Michel and Marie-Anne (Levesque) Robillard. Sister Robillard entered the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in 1935 and made her religious profession on Aug. 21, 1938 at the order’s motherhouse in St. Brieuc, France.

Sister Robillard began her ministry as a teacher and served in England, New York and Connecticut. After obtaining nursing certification in 1955, she ministered as a visiting nurse in Pawtucket from 1955-1961. She later served in Connecticut and at St. Clare Home, Newport.

Sister Robillard also served for many years as a chaplain at Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam.

She is survived by one brother, Leo Robillard; and a sister, Pauline Robillard, both of Tupper Lake.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 27 in the chapel of the Holy Spirit Provincial House. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam.
