Sister Jacqueline Robinson, SU, 68

RHINEBECK, N.Y. — Society of St. Ursula Sister Jacqueline Robinson, formerly Sister Mary Monica, 90, died on April 21 at Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck. She was a member of the Society of Saint Ursula for 68 years.

Sister Robinson was born in Kingston, N.Y., the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Robinson. She attended St. Joseph School and the Academy of Saint Ursula in Kingston. She entered the Society of Saint Ursula in Kingston in 1943, professed first vows in 1945 and final vows in 1950.

She was a graduate of the former Catholic Teachers’ College, Providence. Sister Robinson ministered as a teacher at St. Augustine School, Providence for 26 years, and also taught in New York and Wisconsin, and served in summer missions in South Carolina and Louisiana. She also served as a pastoral minister in Providence, Connecticut and New York, and volunteered at Catholic Charities in Ulster County, N.Y. and as a tutor at St. Joseph School.

Sister Jacqueline is survived by a sister, Kathleen Maurer of Kingston, and by several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Marion King and Beatrice Deyo, and a brother, Walter Robinson.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on April 26 at the Linwood Spiritual Center Chapel, Rhinebeck. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Kingston, NY.
