READING, PA — Bernardine Franciscan Sister Amabilia Niemczyk, 92, a retired educator, died February 20 at St. Joseph Villa. She was in her 75th year of religious life.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Tabaka) Niemczyk. She was baptized Veronica Niemczyk.
Sister Niemcyzk ministered as a teacher in schools conducted by her religious community in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and South Dakota. In the Diocese of Providence, she served at the former St. Joseph School in Central Falls.
She was predeceased by four brothers and five sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated February 23 at St. Joseph Villa Chapel.
