Simone P. Ward

WOONSOCKET – Simone P. Ward died peacefully at Landmark Medical Center on Sept. 13, surrounded by the family she loved deeply and devoted her life to. Simone joins her beloved and eternal husband, Dr. Bernard V. "Vinnie" Ward, who passed away May 10, 1988.

Simone was born Sept. 19, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Albert and Sarah (Page) Mousseau. A lifelong homemaker, she was completely dedicated to her 10 children, 20 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, and was very proud of their accomplishments.

A faithful and caring mother, she leaves nine children and their families: Kathleen A. Jarry of Cumberland; Richard M. Ward and his wife Lorraine, of North Providence; Thomas V. Ward, (Rhode Island Catholic Advisory Board member) and his wife, Carol, of Cumberland; John F. Ward and his wife, Catherine, of Woonsocket; Vincent P. Ward and his wife, Nancy, of Woonsocket; Kevin B. Ward and his wife, Laura, of Lincoln; Robert J. Ward of Niskayuna, N.Y.; Dr. David J. Ward and his wife, Michelle, of Burrillville, and Christine M. Hammond and her husband, Scott, of Burrillville. Her son Dennis C. Ward, of Austin, Texas, passed away in 1993.

Simone also leaves one sister, Theresa Munroe of North Smithfield. She was predeceased by her beloved sisters; Jeannette Paul, Rose Mousseau, and Violet Sweet, and her brother, Albert Mousseau.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 16 at St. Joseph Church, Woonsocket. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
