WARWICK — Salve Regina University will celebrate the opening of two new laboratories for digital forensics and advanced practice nursing during a ribbon cutting ceremony to be held at its Center for Adult Education, 144 Metro Center Blvd., on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The public is invited.

Beginning at 11 a.m., Salve Regina President Dr. Kelli J. Armstrong will join with Warwick Mayor Joseph J. Solomon to mark the opening of the labs and will then welcome guests to tour the facility and meet with the university’s graduate program directors.

Digital Forensics Lab: Devoted to technical, hands-on work using both computers and mobile devices, the Digital Forensics Lab leverages Salve Regina’s academic partnership with Cellebrite. Cellebrite is the industry gold standard for mobile forensics; Salve Regina students have the opportunity to receive both Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO) and Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA) certification, applicable to both public and private sector investigations.

Advanced Practice Nursing Lab: Salve Regina’s nursing programs are dedicated to elevating the art of caring for individuals seeking health care. Using the new lab, didactic learning is combined with crucial skills practice to enhance patient care best practices. The Advanced Practice Nursing Lab simulates a clinical environment; through patient-care simulations, students develop confidence and practice critical thinking skills. This experiential learning enhances the students’ ability to practice effectively in the health care environment.

Salve Regina’s Warwick campus delivers a full slate of state-of-the art training and classes related to advanced practice nursing, cybersecurity, administration of justice and homeland security, rehabilitation and mental health counseling, health care administration and digital forensics. The labs complement the Warwick campus’ existing capabilities, which include a computer laboratory, computer testing center, teleconferencing board room, and state-of-the-art classrooms.
