Saint Raphael freshmen help moms in need

Freshman Theology classes at Saint Raphael Academy hosted the eighth annual St. Gabriel’s Call Baby Shower.

Coordinated by teacher Caroline Aldrich, the party was the culmination of a baby item drive for mothers with problem pregnancies who are helped through St. Gabriel’s Call, a support system through the Diocesan Office of Life and Family that provides goods and services to them. All of the gifts collected will be distributed to families in need through the St. Gabriel’s Call satellite site at Holy Family Church in Pawtucket, just across the street from SRA’s East Building. Students, faculty and staff donated items such as blankets, clothes, toiletries, small toys, diapers and gift cards to pharmacies and grocery stores. The students enjoyed snacks and played shower games like Baby Bingo, Nursery Rhyme Quiz and Guess the Baby. Mrs. Joan Crowley, coordinator of the program at Holy Family, was also present for the festivities.
