LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Russert was ‘that forever altar boy’

Posted

To the Editor:

Re, Tim Russert:? I should like to echo [another’s] kind words...to say the political and TV journalist world has truly lost a great man.

I was not an avid Meet the Press viewer, but soon became one when Tim Russert took the helm. Mostly for his warm, intelligent knowledge and great personality. Then, further learning of his passion for the job, his family, his faith, his roots and sports!

Watching him, I always referred to him as “that forever altar boy.” He was ever so grateful for his Catholic education by the Sisters of Mercy and the Jesuits, and lived it daily.

We’ve lost the best in TV journalism, and this fine man will be sorely missed.

But one only needed a look to the sky over Washington after his funeral service and see that beautiful rainbow to know where he is now – where he belongs, and has already had his first interview!
